What to do?
What are you supposed to do when you tell your almost-4-year-old to sit in the corner with hands on knees for hitting his brother and then you look over & there he is....pant legs up, socks off, and he tells you "I'm just cleaning, Mom."
His toes.
He's cleaning between his toes.
Gross.

Traditional Parenting
In our sunday school class (after almost 11 years of marriage we finally have a s.s. for married couples our age, hallelujah!) we have been studying a very enlightening parenting book that discusses the use of traditional parenting.
And no, it's not about spanking.
Here is the book we've been studying the last 4-5 months. Hubby & I have also ordered this book because we are convinced this is the way we want to raise our boys.
WARNING: What the author has to say may be controversial if you subscribe to other parenting philosophies. However, this is what we believe is biblical & while some things are sometimes hard to get our minds around because of what we've been fed by non-Christian psychologists, we can say with confidence that what he teaches is a GOOD thing.
Tomorrow, Stellan will be having surgery on his tiny little heart, in Boston. The doctors see no other way to control his SVT. In his honor, MckMama's blog readers are wearing orange shirts. (Stellan's favorite color according to his mama =}) If you've been following their story, I invite you to wear orange as a tangible reminder to pray for him on Tuesday. The surgery is VERY risky on such a little guy but his parents are full of hope & leaning on the Everlasting arms.

Found an amazing article from Britain about her.
I'm sure most of you have seen or heard about this, but I've been seriously convicted by it. Who of us has not been guilty of judging? I cry every "bloody" time I watch it. =)

Resurrection
As I said in the last post, if we don't believe that we deserved to die in Christ's place because of our sins, then Sunday is just a nice story. But, if we don't recognize the fact that Jesus rose, that He is alive again, then Friday was just a horrible injustice. Our faith in God has no meaning, Jesus' credibilty is naught, & there would be no hope beyond this life.
But there is!
The TRUTH is that he died in our place & then came back to life to conquer death! That is the hope that we have in Jesus, that we too, after we die, will rise again & join Him in Heaven. This life IS NOT the end! Hallelujah!
The tomb is empty.....HE LIVES!!

Just Do It
I am the kind of girl that, when I was little, would be the one kid at swimming lessons to have to make all the other kids move so I could climb back DOWN from the diving board. And quite honestly, I am still the girl that practically runs out of a room full of strangers just so I don't have to talk to any of them.
Trying new things really isn't my strong suit. I feel that I need to analyze the situation from every angle & decide whether the risk of failure or embarassment is worth it. Usually it's not. To me.
But what if it's worth it to God?
After 30 something years here on earth, I'm finally beginning to realize how very much this life is not about me. Over and over God is showing me that I can trust Him and now that my eyes are open to that fact, I can see how He's been with me from the beginning.
I have so many fears and trusting God to care for us is not easy. But I just can't stand going through the motions anymore. This post from Angie's blog reminded me again of that. In fact, I've stepped out a little this past week, gave it ALL to God & I can't believe the way He is using it! He IS faithful!
